According to prosecutors, a Milwaukee man beat a teenage boy with a hammer, stabbed him in the neck and then burned his body over a stolen video game console.
Officers arrested Malik Terrell, 21, on Monday after finding the charred remains of Dennis King, 15, in an abandoned Milwaukee house Sunday. King’s family had filed a a missing person report on May 11.
Terrell and his two younger siblings believed a friend of King’s stole their video game console, so Terrell took King over to their house to question him. Investigators say Terrell and one of his siblings began assaulting King prior to Terrell attacking him with a hammer and stabbing him in the neck.
Terrell faces one charge of first-degree murder. His attorney is not listed. Charges have not been made against his siblings.

King’s mother launched a GoFundMe campaign on May 20 to raise money to help with his burial expenses. Currently, the campaign is just a couple hundred dollars shy of meeting its $11,000 goal.
