A video surfaced on Facebook last Thursday that shows a trainer teaching a toddler how to swim.
The trainer drops the child into the water and she floats to the top, taking in water through her nose and mouth. The child doesn’t look very comfortable during this process nor does she seem to be enjoying it. For this reason many are voicing their concerns about the instructor’s technique.
On the other hand, others are saying this is how a child learns how to swim. Learning at an early age greatly reduces the child’s risk of drowning, but critics are not convinced. Many supporters feel the toddler is in good hands and there’s nothing to worry about.
What do you think? Is this a necessary and effective method or too cruel?
