Clinton, MD – Police in Prince George’s County announced the man arrested in connection to the deaths of three young girls inside a Clinton, Maryland home admitted to brutally stabbing and killing his little sister and two cousins while they were lying in their beds.
Investigators reported late Friday night that Antonio Williams, 25, had been taken into custody in relation to the death of the children. Officers responded to a call made by a family member around 7:30 a.m. Friday. Inside the residence, they found three bodies, later revealing that the all of the victims were girls under the age of 10. Authorities said all three of them were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials made the announcement Saturday morning that Williams is facing murder charges for the deaths of his 6-year-old sister, Nadira Withers, and their two cousins, Ariana Decree and Ajayah Decree, ages 9 and 6, respectively. The Decree sisters were from Newark, New Jersey, and were the daughters of Williams’ mother’s cousin.
Williams charges include three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder. Law enforcement officials said Williams was babysitting the three girls at the home overnight while his mother, Andrena Kelley, was at work.
At about 7:30 am Friday, authorities say Kelley, upon coming home from work, found her daughter and two cousins in a bedroom down in the basement, suffering from apparent stab wounds. She immediately called 911.
When police arrived, Williams was still at the scene, and was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division to be interviewed. According to police reports, he waived his Miranda rights and admitted to killing the three girls.
Williams is currently being held at the Department of Corrections with no bond. Legal documents indicate his 25th birthday is this Saturday.
Following the news conference on Saturday, officials released footage showing homicide detectives transporting Williams to the Department of Corrections after his admission to the heinous crime. There is no audio in the footage, but it seems to show Williams smiling and conversing with detectives, though it’s not clear what he was saying. Even though he’s admitted his guilt, Captain Tony Schartner said investigators currently haven’t determined a motive for the killings. At the time of the murders, Williams was the only adult male present at the home, but there was another 2-year-old child — another sibling of Williams — home at the time. That child was not harmed.
Schartner said there have been no previous calls for service to the home where the murders occurred.
