A new lawsuit claims R. Kelly sexually assaulted a woman he held against her will, TMZ reports.
Faith Rodgers, Kelly’s accuser, filed the lawsuit in New York City, and says she met the singer after a concert in San Antonio in March 2017, when she was 19. A couple months later, Kelly brought her to NYC for another one of his performances, the lawsuit claims.
When the show was over, she alleges that Kelly “bombarded” her hotel room and forced himself on her, making “unwanted sexual contact,” including oral and vaginal intercourse. After the “abusive sex” encounter, as she calls it, Kelly allegedly criticized her ‘performance’ in bed, calling her ‘boring.’
According to records, obtained by TMZ, Kelly infected Faith with herpes. She says she carried on a relationship with Kelly for almost one year. During that time, she claims Kelly mentally, verbally and sexually abused her. The abuse Faith allegedly endured included being locked in rooms, studios and cars to punish her for not fulfilling his sexual desires. In the lawsuit, Faith says Kelly made a female assistant stand guard to make sure she didn’t try to get away.
Faith’s lawyer tells TMZ she is the one who secretly recorded Kelly, in which she attempted to draw a confession out of him.
She is suing Kelly for sexual battery, false imprisonment and failure to disclose an STD.
