This story is breaking and still developing.
UPDATE: The woman is reportedly 27 years old. The Chicago Sun Times confirms she was struck once in the arm and taken to a local hospital where she is in stable condition. The incident occurred in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood on Chicago’s south side.
It seems the city of Chicago is not off to a good start in the New Year.
Within the last couple of hours, a video went viral showing a Chicago girl get shot on Facebook Live.
In the clip the girl is seen recording herself while walking out of a building.
Not even a minute into recordng, the girl is heard asking, “Girl, who were you just calling a bitch?”
She appears to be talking the driver of a car who had just pulled up. The driver of the car claims the woman recording had threatened to “smack” her and decided to confront her face to face.
Within seconds of exchanging words, things quickly escalate and the driver brandishes a gun. The girl recording does not appear to be intimidated and basically provokes the girl into shooting her.
A loud “pop” is then heard and the woman recording says “she just shot me!” to her friends standing nearby.
Her friend is heard on the phone with paramedics before the video abruptly ends.
The woman happens to catch the woman’s face on camera before the shooting so she will likely be identified soon.
More to come as the story develops.
